Stop. the. madness.

The world is filling up with plastic; you see it everywhere you go. It's hard to walk down the street without seeing a plastic bottle in the curb or a straw in a parking lot.
Researchers estimate that by 2050, there will be more than 13 billion -- that's right, BILLION, with a B -- tons of discarded plastic worldwide.
“We cannot continue with business as usual unless we want a planet that is literally covered in plastic,” said lead author Geyer, an associate professor at UCSB’s Bren School of Environmental Science & Management. “This paper delivers hard data not only for how much plastic we’ve made over the years but also its composition and the amount and kind of additives that plastic contains. I hope this information will be used by policymakers to improve end-of-life management."
What are we doing to ourselves, people?
Make it a point to speak to your local policymakers about this concern, won't you?
strategies for plastics.”
